Sundays are Week In Review days around here, as seen through the eyes of this blog.
We started things off by wrapping up the 12-game road trip and previewing the Reno series, which started on Tuesday.
The Rainiers were shut down by Blake Walston in the first game of the series, and then had a makeup doubleheader on Wednesday.
Aces are supposed to be split, and that’s what Tacoma did with them in Wednesday’s twinbill.
Reno’s pitching has been outstanding in this series, as we witnessed again on Thursday.
But Tacoma’s bats broke out on Friday night, connecting for ten hits in a 7-2 win.

There shouldn’t be any shortage of offense this coming week, when the Rainiers play a six-game series at mile high Isotopes Park in Albuquerque. Our next blog post will come on Tuesday afternoon in advance of that night’s 5:35 (Pacific) game.
RAINIERS DAILY
YESTERDAY: Reno clinched a series win with a 5-3 victory over Tacoma on Saturday night. Reno had 15 hits – 14 singles and one double – plus three walks, and the Rainiers did a nice job defensively and in key moments to hold them to five runs despite all that traffic on the bases. Konner Wade pitched six innings and allowed three runs, getting no decision. Jake Scheiner homered for the Rainiers, his team-leading 12th of the season.
TODAY: Reno Aces (22-16) at Tacoma Rainiers (18-20), 1:35.
OPPONENT AFFILIATION: Arizona Diamondbacks.
OPPOSING MANAGER: Blake Lalli.
SEASON SERIES: Tacoma leads, 6-5.
PITCHERS: LHP Blake Walston (3-1, 2.36) at RHP Jose Rodriguez (1-3, 4.50)
The Rainiers get another shot at Walston, who limited Tacoma to one hit in 7.1 innings on Tuesday.
ROSTER MOVES: None today as of blog posting time.
