We’re celebrating the 30th and final game of the year against Salt Lake with our Tacoma Rainiers Week In Review! Here are the posts from the past week:
It started on Tuesday with a review of the Rainiers homestand-closing walk-off win, and a preview of the Salt Lake series.
The Rainiers opened the Salt Lake series by pitching a shutout.
Next up, we broke down Taylor Trammell’s career stats at Smith’s Ballpark – which have held up, by the way: he’s now 24-for-48 (.500) all time on this field.
Keeping with the statistics, our next post took a dive into Trammell and Jarred Kelenic’s recent trend of hitting for more contact.
Yesterday’s post was about how the Rainiers just keep on playing Salt Lake… which finally ends today.
After today’s game the Rainiers fly home, have a day off on Monday, and host the Sacramento River Cats in a six-game series that starts Tuesday at 7:05. There are only 12 home games remaining, so try to make it out to the park if you can! Our next blog post will arrive Tuesday afternoon.
YESTERDAY: Tacoma banged out 13 hits and cruised to a 10-4 win over Salt Lake on Saturday night. Jonathan Villar went 4-for-4 and was a double shy of hitting for the cycle – he had two singles, a triple, and a homer. Evan White went 3-for-5 with two doubles and three RBI. White and Kyle Lewis hit back-to-back two-run singles with two outs in the fourth inning, when Tacoma built a 7-2 lead.
TODAY: Tacoma Rainiers (56-66) at Salt Lake Bees (57-65), 12:05 (Pacific).

OPPOSING MANAGER: Lou Marson
SEASON SERIES: Salt Lake leads, 15-14.

OPPONENT NEWS: Salt Lake has returned home from Reno, where the Bees lost four of six games including the last three in a row… Jake Palomaki has hit safely in 11 of his last 12 games… Salt Lake has former Rainiers Dillon Thomas, Jonathan Aro, and Brian Moran… Federal Way native Janson Junk is still with the Bees, and is listed as today’s starting pitcher.

Unfortunately, there is no traditional terrestrial radio station carrying the games at this time.
