The Rainiers made it two straight wins in Albuquerque last night, collecting 15 hits in a 10-6 win at Isotopes Park. Tacoma picked up a game in the standings, as first place Reno dropped a 9-6 decision at Sacramento.
Sacramento has helped out the Rainiers the past two days, beating Reno twice (including a rare shutout on Thursday night). This has enabled second place Tacoma to pull within three games of the first place Aces.
We’re keeping an eye on the standings for the first time this season, because Reno has clearly been the best team in the division to date, and they are coming to Tacoma this week. The Rainiers host Reno in a six-game series that starts on Thursday.
The Rainiers will have the opportunity to gain ground on Reno head-to-head during the coming homestand. Hopefully we’ll have some good crowds, with the July 3rd and 4th festivities being a big part of it.
