We will continue to update this page with the latest news on ticket sales and COVID-19 protocols at Cheney Stadium during the 2021 Tacoma Rainiers season.
Following new guidelines for outdoor venues, released by the Governor on May 3, we have expanded Cheney Stadium capacity for games during the 2021 Triple-A West Championship Season. There are currently vaccinated and non-vaccinated sections, and fans who purchase single-game tickets in vaccinated areas are required to provide proof of vaccine at the gates.
Priority access will be given to season-ticket holders for all games with limited capacity, and single-game tickets to all 2021 home games will be available for purchase on Tuesday, June 1 at 10 a.m. PT on TacomaRainiers.com, based on availability. We will continue updating ticket information for each homestand as state and county guidance changes.
The Rainiers worked closely with Washington State and Tacoma-Pierce County government officials and health authorities to prepare a safe return for fans, staff, players and coaches to Cheney Stadium. The following measures are in place to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and ensure the safety of all stadium goers.
Fans in vaccinated sections will have no social distancing restrictions and are not required to wear masks. Any ticket buyer who purchases seats in a vaccinated section but is unable to provide proof of vaccine at the gates will be seated in a non-vaccinated section, based on availability, or given a voucher(s) to a future game, and will be asked to wear masks unless actively eating or drinking.
Kids in Vaccinated Sections
Children ages 5-15 years old will need to provide a negative COVID-19 test result dating no more than 72 hours prior to entering the stadium in order to sit in a vaccinated section.
Self-administered rapid testing will be available outside Cheney Stadium for those who were unable to get tested prior to game time (please plan extra time to enter the stadium).
If a child tests positive for COVID-19, no members of their party will be able to enter Cheney Stadium, and they will be given vouchers to a future game.
Children under 5 will not be required to provide a negative test result.
Both season ticket and single-game ticket buyers will enjoy paperless tickets in 2021. Ticket buyers will have access to their digital tickets via the Tacoma Rainiers website, TacomaRainiers.com, or in the case of single game purchases, through a text message sent to their phone.
The We R Tacoma Team Store and all concessions are currently cashless. Enjoy one of three ways to shop for Rainiers merchandise: 1) in-store, 2) at the concourse kiosk, 3) order online and we’ll email you when your purchase is ready for pick-up from the concourse kiosk.
No bags are allowed during COVID-19 restrictions to speed up entry to the ballpark and minimize staff-to-fan cross contamination. Exceptions will be made for medically necessary items, single compartment diaper bags (child must be present) or clutch sized purses.
All ticket sales, and season-ticket holder seat reservations, in non-vaccinated sections will be made in pods of no more than six people. (Any fan purchasing less than a complete pod will likely result in sharing a pod with another ticket-buying group.) Fans in non-vaccinated sections will be socially distanced in their seats based on recommendations from local health authorities and the CDC. When walking on the concourse, in the restrooms and waiting in concession lines, fans are encouraged to maintain safe social distancing from others.
There is currently limited capacity in the Team Store, including non-game days.
All fans ages 2 and up will be required to wear face masks at all times unless actively eating or drinking.
In addition to being cashless, all concessions at Cheney Stadium have increased sanitization to protect fans and staff. All food and beverage staff will wear two masks, and staff will be health screened and temperature checked before each shift.
All concessions purchases will be packaged in covered containers, and fans are asked to consume all food and beverages at their assigned seats. There will be no shared condiments or condiment bars on the concourse.
All food and beverage staff will be required to follow health and safety guidelines as defined by the Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department and the Center for Disease Control (CDC).
Additional sanitation stations have been added to all restrooms and throughout Cheney Stadium. Fans are encouraged to wash their hands consistently and utilize hand sanitizer dispensers.
Mary Bridge Children’s Pavilion
The Mary Bridge Children’s Pavilion is currently closed.
Autographs and Player Interaction
Players and coaches are not permitted to sign autographs or make physical contact with fans. Fans are asked to please refrain from asking players and coaches to sign memorabilia on-field as well as outside the ballpark, clubhouse or public spaces.
