By the powers of what could only be described as unwanted and completely forced time travel, it is almost mid-August. The sun is slowly receding to whatever Pacific NW cave it hides in 10 months out of the year, and our other favorite American soccer team was knocked out of the MLS is Back tournament far too early.
Take a look around the Washington state professional soccer scene right now. Pretty barren, except for four gnarly bright green tentacles waving wildly as to say: “Over here.”
To put it bluntly: Tacoma Defiance is the only professional soccer team playing in the state right now, and if that’s not enough to satisfy your soccer itch, then it’s time to reassess and get on board with the boys in black and white. For Tacoma.
Our young men, the future of American soccer, are on a bit of a heater right now, and while we wish so very badly you and yours could fill Cheney Stadium to cheer them on, you can still watch all the action.
